Unbelievably positive!

My kids came home from school this week really excited.

“Dad, some people from the government are coming to our school to see how good we are!”

That is by far the most positive description of an impending Ofsted inspection I’ve ever heard! I’m not a teacher but I am a school governor  so I do empathise at least a little with the additional pressure of facing two days of intense inspection that carries with it such high stakes… but all my kids could see was opportunity to impress and do well.

Most of the time, for most of us, our work tends to be more routine and less pressured than an Ofsted inspection and its easy to focus on the potential stress, the problems and the difficulties. How much better though to seek out the opportunities to impress, to do something great, to make someone’s day and to achieve important goals.

Many studies point to the fact that successful people have some common qualities, one of which is an incessantly positive attitude. Its just one of those things that is incontestably true!

It takes a while to change an attitude, but small actions, repeated daily – such as actively looking to respond more positively to challenging situations – over time have a massive impact and can transform a whole team, department or entire organisation.

  1. First of all I would like to say wonderful blog!
I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing. I’ve had
difficulty clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like
the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin.
Any ideas or tips? Thank you!
